Cygnus X-1 B

Cygnus X-1 is a black hole about 7,200 light-years away in Cygnus, circled every 5.6 days by a supergiant star. Discovered on a rocket flight in 1964, it was the first X-ray source widely accepted to be a black hole, and it is still one of the strongest in the sky.
