Betelgeuse

Betelgeuse is the red supergiant on Orion’s shoulder, usually the tenth-brightest star in the night sky. Placed at the Sun’s position, its surface would extend beyond the asteroid belt, and it is expected to explode as a supernova within about the next 100,000 years.
